The vaccines and the improvement of the situation triggered the reaction for a few days that we all expected: the crazy search for an accommodation for the next summer vacation or for a short break in an Italian city or for a work holiday. Travel to Italy 2021: on the way to improving the situation

At the moment we are still far from the idyllic situation of Australia, which defines itself as a Covid Free travel destination, but we are taking small steps into the right direction.

Luckily the first Covid free flights by airlines such as Alitalia and Emirates started. All passengers departing on these flights are required to take an antigen or molecular test and complete the EU Passenger Locator Form. A second test must be carried out at the arrival airport.

It is necessary to stay updated, as the rules set for the Green Pass, as well as the specific regulations of the various European countries change often

But what are the practical rules for entering Italy from other countries?

Since May 16, holidaymakers from the EU and the Schengen Countries have been able to have vacation in Italy again. Entry through Austria and Switzerland is also possible.

The following are mandatory for the journey:

1. Registration in the European Passenger Locator Form portal

2. Have a negative test (PCR or rapid antigen test not older than 48 hours, also in German). Those who have recovered and who have been vaccinated must also show a negative test. Children under 2 years of age are not required to test.

3. Register with the venetian health department and attach proof of the negative test and PLF Form.
